In the Faroe Islands (these are islands belonging to Denmark), underwater drones with wings, essentially turbines that generate electricity through the tidal force of the ocean, have been tested for a year. They are tethered to the bottom by a tether, the movement is due to the upward force created by the stream and when moving in the water they describe a “figure of eight”, with the onboard electronics directing the underwater plane in the direction of the prevailing current.
